产能需求规划(Capacity Requirement Planning) 制定、测量和调整产能的标准，以决定要投入多少的人力及机器来完成生产。将现场的订单，和计划中的订单，输入CRP中，这些订单将转换成在每一时期、每一个工作站的工作时数。以有限产能为导向，主控产能与时间，检验在规划的范围内，确定是否有足够的产能来处理所有的订单；而在确定之后，会建立一个可接受的MPS，而后CRP要决定每一个期间、每一个工作站的工作量。
