燃料油脱硫是指在燃料油燃烧过程前脱去所含硫分。燃料油一般指重油,是由原油常压蒸馏残油制成的,重油含硫较多,其中硫分多是大分子的环状硫化物。重油脱硫的困难在于要彻底加工燃料,破坏原来的组织,并产生新的固态、液态和气态物质。目前的常用方法是在催化剂作用下,通过高压加氢反应,切断碳与硫的化合键,以置换出碳,同时氢与硫作用生成硫化氢,从重油中分离出来,用吸收法除去。
