热泵蒸发是指将蒸发器蒸出的二次蒸汽用压缩机压缩，提高其压力,使其饱和温度超过溶液的沸点，然后送回蒸发器的加热室作为加热蒸汽,此种方法称为热泵蒸发。采用热泵蒸发只需在蒸发器开工阶段供应加热蒸汽，当操作达到稳定后，不再需要加热蒸汽，只需提供使二次蒸汽升压所需要的功，因而节省了大量的生蒸汽。
