灌木群落（scrub）是灌木的生活型居优势的植被。一般多发育在比乔木群落环境条件差的地方。E．Rübel（1930）把世界灌木群落与乔木群落对应，分成以下六大类：（1）热带常雨灌木群落，（2）阔叶常绿灌木群落，（3）硬叶灌木群落，（4）夏绿灌木群落，（5）雨绿灌木群落，（6）针叶灌木群落。
研究结果表明：TWINSPAN将大花黄牡丹生境地群落划分为乔木群落和灌木群落。
