潮波是由潮汐引起的,是海水表面发生的一种波动现象,一般以正弦波或余弦波的形式,波长会比较长,带有能量的传递。从全球范围内来考察潮汐现象,一些地方发生涨潮,必在另外一些地方发生落潮;反之,一些地方若是落潮,正好证明另一些地方正在涨潮。这种此起彼落的海水运动,称为潮波。
