滨海湿地(Coastal wetland)是指陆地生态系统和海洋生态系统的交错过渡地带。按国际湿地公约的定义,滨海湿地的下限为海平面以下6米处(习惯上常把下限定在大型海藻的生长区外缘),上限为大潮线之上与内河流域相连的淡水或半咸水湖沼以及海水上溯未能抵达的入海河的河段。与此相当的用语有海滨湿地、海岸带湿地或沿海湿地等。地形上包括河口、浅海、海滩、盐滩、潮滩、潮沟、泥炭沼泽、沙坝、沙洲、泻湖、红树林、珊瑚礁、海草床、海湾、海堤、海岛等。
