温泉生物 hot-spring organism 以温泉作为栖息场所的生物。通常是指栖息在水温50℃以上温泉中的生物。大部分是原核生物和原生动物，在87.5℃也能生活的细菌的Phormidium ami-nosum和85℃可生存的一种颤藻（Oscillatoria）都是典型的例子。在根足类、纤毛虫类中也有能栖息在50—55℃水中的种类。多细胞动物很少在50℃以上的地方生活，但在轮虫类、甲壳类、双翅类、贝类中则有栖息于比较高温水中的种类。
