消光系数(英文名:extinction coefficient)是被测溶液对光的吸收大小值。被测溶液浓度高,溶液显色后颜色深,对光吸收大,光透射率低,反之就小。同种溶液对不同波长的光谱有不同的吸收峰,为了提高灵敏度,一般选用光的互补色来作为波长的优选条件,蓝色对黄色光是互为补色,595nm波长正是此范围,可以测出最大吸收值,提高了灵敏度。而465nm是绿色光,蓝色溶液吸收低,灵敏度自然低了。
