海底火山，是大洋底部形成的火山。海底火山的分布相当广泛，海底火山喷发的溶岩表层在海底就被海水急速冷却，有如挤牙膏状，但内部仍是高热状态。 绝大部分海底火山位于构造板块运动的附近区域，被称为中洋脊。尽管多数海底火山位于深海，但是也有一些位于浅水区域，在喷发时会向空中喷出物质。在海底火山附近的热气喷发口，具有丰富的生物活性。
