近程和中程海上导航用的无线电测向设备。最早的测向仪出现于20年代。在船上装备测向仪，沿海岸配置指向标，即无线电信标。国际航海组织规定，1600吨位以上的所有船只都必须装备无线电测向设备。船上测向仪不仅用于对岸上的信标进行测向，也用于对遇难呼救船只测向。国际规定的呼救频率是500赫和2182千赫。
