hydraulic model test 在模型中重演（或预演）与原型相似的水流现象以观测分析研究水流运动规律的手段（见彩图）。又称水工模型试验，是实验水力学的主要内容。当原型水流由于各种原因不能直接进行量测，普遍的理论模式和简单概化的实验又不能反映复杂的水流情况时，就须制作专门的模型，进行试验。19世纪末叶开始了近代的有科学依据的模型试验，20世纪得到长足的发展和广泛的应用。
