楹树（拉丁学名：Albizia chinensis (Osbeck) Merr.）常绿乔木。高达45米。二回羽状复叶，总叶柄基部和叶轴上有腺体；顶生的圆锥花序；花淡白色，密被黄褐色茸毛；花萼漏斗状，子房被黄褐色柔毛；荚果扁平，花期4～5月，种子7～9月成熟。 是热带树种，喜高温多湿气侯，天然分布气温为25～27℃。产于福建、湖南、广东等省区。 有药用、观赏、经济等多种价值。适为行道树及荫蔽树。木材褐色，色泽美，质柔软，耐朽力弱，可作家具，箱板等用；树皮含单宁。
