颈椎病包括：颈型颈椎病、神经根型颈椎病、脊髓型颈椎病、椎动脉型颈椎病、交感神经型颈椎病、食管压迫型颈椎病。 而由于颈部交感神经受激惹致椎动脉受累可引起眩晕视力模糊等综合症状，称之为椎动脉型颈椎病、椎动脉压迫综合征、颈性眩晕、椎动脉缺血综合征、椎一基底动脉供血不足等。椎动脉型颈椎病较之脊髓型颈椎病略为多见，因其中大多系由于椎节不稳所致，易经非手术疗法治愈或好转，故住院及需手术者较少。本型主要引起头痛症状。
