棉型纤维是指长度、细度、性能和形态与棉纤维相似的化学纤维。一般长度31~38mm,细度1.67dtex或更细。长度约在30~40毫米,细度在1.5旦左右的化学短纤维。纤维细度对产品风格有直接影响。降低细度,可减小抗弯刚度,提高织物悬垂性和柔软性。加工方法有丝束切断法、长丝牵切法和长丝短纤化处理法。用于纯纺或与棉混纺。可加工成各种棉织物、非织造布、带子、缝纫线和绳索等。
