检波是指从已调信号中检出调制信号的过程。因此解调的目的是为了恢复被调制的信号。为了解调可以使调幅波和载波相乘，再通过低通滤波器滤波。最常见的解调方法是整流检波和相敏检波。若把调制信号进行偏置，叠加一个直流分量，使偏置后的信号都具有正电压，那么调幅波的包络线将具有原调制信号的形状，把该调幅波进行简单的半波或全波整流、滤波，并减去所加的偏置电压就可以恢复原调制信号。这种方法又称作包络分析。
