标准光源，亦称“国际烛光”。是指国际照明委员会为统一颜色测量时的照明所规定的光源。不同的照明光源对颜色视觉有不同的影响。在暗室红灯照明下，人们感觉到只有明暗而看不出颜色；用钠灯照明，人们看到的颜色失真。其原始标准是用一支蜡烛放在离屏幕（s）的一段距离（d）处，入射光被称作是射到屏幕上的照度E，以英尺烛光为单位，得到的公式为F—s/d0英尺烛。照明工程师可藉此确定不同的视觉工作所需要的标准照明水平和光源。现已用光电英尺烛光度计来确定标准光源。
标准光源(Standard Light Sources)指模拟各种环境光线下的人造光源，让生产工厂或实验室非现场也能获得与这些特定环境下的光源基本一致的照明效果。
