“束脩”；——古代学生与教师初见面时，必先奉赠礼物，表示敬意，名曰“束脩”。早在孔子的时候已经实行。学费即是“束修数条”，束修就是咸猪肉，后来基本上就是拜师费的意思，可以理解为学费。唐代学校中仍采用束修之礼并同国家明确规定，不过礼物的轻重，随学校的性质而有差别。教师在接受此项礼物时，还须奉行相当的礼节。束修的致送，表示学生对教师的尊敬。
