“晋宁构造运动期”的简称。指在距今约10亿8亿年间新元古代早期发生的构造运动期。发生在这一时期的造山运动,统称“晋宁运动”。这次运动较普遍,中国震旦系与其先前的地层间常呈不整合接触。因最早在今云南晋宁发现,故名。受此次运动的影响,一些地区隆起成陆地,如康滇古陆、华夏古陆等。
由此可以推测晋宁期是蚀变岩型金矿体形成的主要时期。
