数控装置 （digital controller，习惯称为数控系统）是数控机床的中枢，在普通数控机床中一般由输入装置、存储器、控制器、运算器和输出装置组成。数控装置接收输入介质的信息，并将其代码加以识别、储存、运算，输出相应的指令脉冲以驱动伺服系统，进而控制机床动作。在计算机数控机床中，由于计算机本身即含有运算器、控制器等上述单元，因此其数控装置的作用由一台计算机来完成。
