敖汉细毛羊体高67～79cm，体长69～81cm，体重50～91kg。被毛白色，为同质毛。多数羊的颈部有纵皱褶，少数羊的颈部有横皱褶。公羊体大，鼻梁微隆，大多数有螺旋形角。母羊一般无角，或有不发达的小角。敖汉细毛羊主要分布于内蒙古赤峰市一带，是由蒙古羊与高加索细毛羊、斯达夫细毛羊杂交培育，于1982年育成的新品种。敖汉细毛羊具有适应能力强，抗病力强等特点，适于干旱沙漠地区饲养，是较好的毛肉兼用细毛羊品种
