播种面积是实际播种或移植有农作物的土地面积。按种植季节和作物分别统计，以每个种植季节结束调查时实际活存有农作物的土地面积计算。不包括调查前已经成片死亡和由于基本建设等原因而毁损的面积。对一些特殊情况，按下列规定计算播种面积：(1)禾苗生长不齐全、缺苗断垄的，按播过种的全部面积计算。(2)移植作物如水稻、红薯、烟叶等，按移植后实际种植的面积计算，原来的秧田不包括在内。
