挫裂创是指机械作用引起人体皮肤、粘膜或被膜破裂的组织损伤。挫裂创由创角、创缘、创腔、创壁与创底等5部分组成。其特点是创角较钝、创缘不整齐、创壁不平整，创内有组织间桥与组织挫灭，创周伴有表皮剥脱与皮下出血。根据上述特点，可鉴别于锐器创。
