按蚊（Anopheles） 无脊椎动物。体多呈灰色，翅有黑白花斑，刺吸式口器。静止时腹部翘起，与停落面成一角度。雌虫吸取人、畜的血，传播疟疾和丝虫病等。又称疟蚊。分布于世界各地，中国常见的四大传疟媒介为中华按蚊（Anopheles sinensis）、微小按蚊（Anopheles minimus）、大劣按蚊（Anopheles dirus）和雷氏按蚊(Anopheles lesteri)。幼虫多喜在有水草、阳光照射的天然清水中孳生；成蚊多分散躲在室外洞穴中，部分在居室、畜舍内越冬。
