德国东南部城市。位处菲希特尔山和弗兰克侏罗山之间的丘陵地上，美因河上源红美因河畔。人口7.2万（1984）。建于1194年。交通枢纽。工业以纺织、化学、机械制造、陶瓷、造纸为主。乐器制造著名。德国作曲家瓦格纳1872年来此定居，死后葬于此。每年7、8月在此举行瓦格纳音乐节。
