惯性除尘器是使含尘气体与挡板撞击或者急剧改变气流方向，利用惯性力分离并捕集粉尘的除尘设备。惯性除尘器亦称惰性除尘器。由于运动气流中尘粒与气体具有不同的惯性力，含尘气体急转弯或者与某种障碍物碰撞时，尘粒的运动轨迹将分离出来使气体得以净化的设备称为惯性除尘器或惰性除尘器。
