急性应激反应即急性应激障碍（ASD），是指在遭受到急剧、严重的精神创伤性事件后数分钟或数小时内所产生的一过性的精神障碍，一般在数天或一周内缓解，最长不超过1个月。ASD在各个年龄阶段均可发生，多见于青壮年，男女发病率无明显差异，临床上主要表现为具有强烈恐惧体验的精神运动性兴奋或者精神运动性抑制甚至木僵，症状往往历时短暂，预后良好，缓解完全。
急性应激反应(acute stress reaction)指由极端严重的躯体或心理应激因素而产生的短暂的精神障碍。病程仅持续数小时或数天，预后良好。
