建筑外立面，指的是建筑和建筑的外部空间直接接触的界面以及其展现出来的形象和构成的方式，或是建筑内外空间界面处的构件及其组合方式的统称。一般情况下建筑外立面包括除屋顶外建筑所有外围护部分，在某些特定情况下，如特定几何形体造型的建筑屋顶与墙体表现出很强的连续性并难以区分，或为了特定建筑观察角度的需要将屋顶作为建筑的“第五立面”来处理时，也可以将屋顶作为建筑外立面的组成部分。
