地震勘探中妨碍分辨有效波的振动都属于干扰波(noise)。干扰波大体上可分为两种：其中具有明显传播规律的称为规则干扰或干扰波，如声波、面波、多次波等等，没有明显传播规律性的振动称为随机干扰，或简称干扰，如微震等。抗干扰的问题是关系到地震勘探中提高勘探的质量和能力的极其重要的问题。因此，在野外工作和资料处理上采用多种措施，以提高有效波而压制干扰波。干扰波有时也是相对的概念，如在反射法中、折射波就常被当成干扰波。
