“工业碱”是行业内习惯性叫法，涵义比较笼统，它可以是很多种产品，但一般是指三碱：（碳酸钠）、工业烧碱（氢氧化钠）、工业重碱（碳酸氢钠）。绝大部分用于工业，一小部分为民用。在工业用纯碱中，主要是轻工、建材、化学工业，约占2/3；其次是冶金、纺织、石油、国防、医药及其它工业。
