屏蔽线是使用金属网状编织层把信号线包裹起来的传输线，编织层一般是红铜或者镀锡铜。屏蔽线的屏蔽层需要接地，外来的干扰信号可被该层导入大地。 屏蔽线是为减少外电磁场对电源或通信线路的影响而专门采用的一种带金属编织物外壳的导线。这种屏蔽线也有防止线路向外辐射电磁能的作用。
但是一般这些信号会使用屏蔽线(Shielded cable)，而且会比一般低速 I/O信号之 非屏蔽线(unshielded cable)要小心处理。
