层析（chromatography）是“色层分析”的简称。利用各组分物理性质的不同，将多组分混合物进行分离及测定的方法。有吸附层析、分配层析两种。一般用于有机化合物、金属离子、氨基酸等的分析。层析利用物质在固定相与流动相之间不同的分配比例，达到分离目的的技术。层析对生物大分子如蛋白质和核酸等复杂的有机物的混合物的分离分析有极高的分辨力。
薄层层析(Thin layer chromatography,TLC)：将 适当粒度的吸附剂铺成薄层，以纸层析类似的方 法进行物质的分离和鉴定。
