对分法是用于单因素问题的一种具体优选方法。重复地在因素变化连续范围的中点进行试验以取得最优方案的方法。当一个实际问题依赖某一因素，而该因素的变化范围是可确定的区间 〔a，b〕 时，就可以用对分法找到解决这个问题的最佳方案。其优点在于：在不知道该实际问题的函数关系时，只需按一定程序做最少的试验就能成功。
