委托理财又称代客理财，是同一业务从委托方和管理方角度形成的不同称谓。委托理财指专业管理人接受资产所有者委托，代为经营和管理资产，以实现委托资产增值或其它特定目标的行为，一般特指证券市场内的委托理财，即投资银行作为管理人，以独立帐户募集和管理委托资金，投资于证券市场的股票、基金、债券、期货等金融工具的组合，实现委托资金增值或其它特定目的的中介业务。
