①郡名。三国吴甘露元年（公元265年）分零陵郡置。治所在始安（今桂林市）。辖境相当今广西桂林市、平乐间漓水流域及永福县等地。南朝宋改名始建，南齐复旧。隋开皇初废。大业及唐天宝又曾改桂州为始安郡，至德二年（公元757年）改名建陵。②古县名。西汉置。治所在今广西桂林市。唐贞观八年（公元634年）改名临桂。历为始安郡、桂州治所。
