大麦哲伦星系(Large Magellanic Cloud, LMC)是著名的河外星系之一，是不规则矮星系，它是银河系众多卫星星系中质量最大的一个。 大麦哲伦星系，位于剑鱼座内，距离我们在155,000～165,000光年的范围内。这个平均直径约为1.5万光年的星系，是银河系最大的卫星星系。左图左上方醒目的红色光斑为剑鱼座30，又称为蜘蛛星云，是大麦哲伦星系中一个巨大的恒星形成区。
