大孔隙比（ratio of great pore）是土样浸水前后孔隙比之差，其值越大，湿陷性越显著。天然结构的黄土，在试验室内分级加荷进行压缩试验，待土样在设计荷重作用下压缩稳定后，加水浸湿，土样则发生突然下陷。
