大众交通（集团）股份有限公司，前身为上海市大众出租汽车公司，成立于1988年12月24日。1992年7月，公司改制为上海大众出租汽车股份有限公司，同时发行A、B股，走上高速发展之路，效益稳步增长。至2003年末，公司总资产和净资产分别达53亿元和23亿元，净资产年收益率连续10年保持在10%以上。
