环节动物门之一纲，或作毛足纲的一目。体长形，如蠕虫，体之横切面为圆形或圆而略扁。环节动物门多毛纲种类的统称，有5 000多种外观环节区分明显，由同律体节分化为异律体节，分成头和躯干；或头、胸、腹、尾等部分。头部由口前叶和围口节，或进而由与之相连的数个体节愈合而成。躯干部的体节中具疣足。
