外部经济（External economy）又叫外在经济是指由于消费或者其他人和厂商的产出所引起一个人或厂商无法索取的收益。是指当整个产业的产量（因企业数量的增加）扩大时（企业外部的因素），该产业各个企业的平均生产成本下降，因而有时也称为外部规模经济（External Economy of Scale）。
