在岩石地下工程中,由于受开挖影响而发生应力状态改变的周围岩体,称为围岩。 围岩又称主岩、容矿岩。矿体周围的和岩体周围的岩石均称围岩。 不过,前者是矿体的围岩,后者为岩体的围岩。 矿体与围岩的关系大致有二种情况: 矿体与围岩在组构上和有用组份的含量上有显著的差别,接触界线清楚,如脉状充填矿体与围岩的关系。 矿体与围岩的分界线是过渡的,如浸染状交代矿体与围岩的关系。 在一般情况下,矿体和围岩的边界是通过系统的取样分析,根据一定的工业指标圈定的。
