嗅球：嗅球(olfactory bulb)是端脑皮质的一部分，位于大脑半球额叶眶面嗅沟的下方和前端，呈扁卵圆形，向后移行于嗅束。嗅黏膜双极细胞的中枢突组成的嗅神经，通过筛板的孔进入额叶下面，大部分纤维终于嗅球前端。因此，嗅球可视为嗅神经的终止核，是嗅觉的初级中枢。位于颅底的一团细胞和纤维。嗅觉神经纤维进入其中后，与其他纤维连接组成嗅束，再向前进入脑内。
