合成地震记录是用声波测井或垂直地震剖面资料经过人工合成转换成的地震记录（地震道）。它是地震模型技术中应用非常广泛的一种，也是层位标定、油藏描述等工作的基础，是把地质模型转化为地震信息的中间媒介。 是联合高分辨率的测井信息与区域性的地震信息的桥梁，其精度直接影响到地质层位的准确标定。目前油气勘探工作越来越向隐蔽性油气藏发展，目标尺度越来越小，对合成地震记录提出了更高的要求。由于合成记录的制作过程中存在诸多的制约因素，合成地震记录与实际地震剖面往往并不能完全一致。
