反推力一般是指由反推力装置和引擎喷出的气流。是现代大型喷气客机必备的设备，位于飞机的引擎中，反推力装置是可以使原本向后喷射气流的飞机引擎，转而向前喷出气流的一个装置。当装置启动时，引擎通过改变气流流出通道并阻挡正常的喷气口，使气流穿过引擎侧面的小喷气口喷出。该装置在飞机着地时立即启动，可以使大型客机在较短的跑道上、或是雨天等恶劣环境着陆时，尽快停住，从而大大提高客机的安全性。 目的是为缩短飞机着陆滑跑距离以及作必要的机动飞行动作时常需要采用相应的减速。
