单值对应又称“映射”。对于集合A中的任何一个元素，在集合B中都有唯一的元素与它对应，这种对应关系叫做从集合A到集合B的单值对应。如，A={1,2,3}，B={4,6,8}。A的元素按对应关系x→2x+2与B的元素对应，是单值对应。A={-1,0,1}，B={0,1,2,3}，A的元素按对应关系x→x2与B的元素对应，也是单值对应。在从A到B的单值对应下，A中的元素所对应的B中的元素b，叫做a的象，a叫做b的原象。
