英文名Centrum semiovale，为大脑半球中心呈半卵圆形的白质区，是一个区域白质的统称。半卵圆中心是一个形态学名词，位置为胼胝体（相当于侧脑室体部）上部层面大脑白质，呈半卵圆形。主要由胼胝体的辐射纤维以及经内囊的投射纤维等组成。在半球上部横切面上是半卵圆形，故有此名。
分别在半卵圆中心、基底节区和大脑脚层面测量主要白质束的FA值。
