化学渗透（或称化学渗透偶联）是离子经过半透膜扩散的现象，跟渗透差不多。它们由较多离子的区域渗入较少离子区域，直到内外浓度平衡为止。化学渗透通常是发生在细胞的光合作用或呼吸作用中的ATP合酶（三磷酸腺苷合酶）里，利用该特性来制造ATP（三磷酸腺苷）。
