功能反应（functional response）：指每个捕食者的捕食率随猎物密度变化的一种反应。即捕食者对猎物的捕食效应。 传统上分为三种类型：功能反应I、II和III。 随猎物密度增加捕食者的摄食以固定比率增加。这叫做 I 型功能反应。 捕食者在摄食猎物时可能达到饱和，结果降低其摄食速率，直到完全饱和，设施速率不再随猎物密度增加而变化——II型功能反应。 如果捕食者在猎物密度低时由于低狩猎效率或缺乏”搜寻图像”而反应也低，以后摄食速率又因饱和水平而逐渐减少，就呈现III型功能反应。
