共析钢是指具有共析成分含0.77%碳的碳素钢。钢由高温奥氏体区缓冷至727℃，生成多边形珠光体组织，其中铁素体和渗碳体呈片状平行排列。优质碳素结构钢和碳素工具钢都包含有这种组织。一般冷却速度大，珠光体片层间距减小，有利于强度和硬度提高。
共析钢（eutectoid steel）：Wc=0.77% 过共析钢（hypereutectoid steel）：Wc=0.77～2.11% 含碳量在0.7%以上的共析钢和过共析钢，属于高碳钢，属工具钢类。
