入瞳是限制入射光束的有效孔径，是孔径光阑对前方光学系统所成的像。入瞳和出瞳相对应，把孔径光阑在物空间的共轭像称为“入瞳”，入瞳的位置和直径代表了入射光束的位置和口径。 入射光瞳是光学名词，与实际影响入射光能量和分辨率的孔径光阑对应。它是孔径光阑通过前面光组在光学系统的物空间所成的像，简称入瞳。孔径光阑是限制轴上点成像光束孔径角的光孔。亦有出射光瞳与入射光瞳对应。
