入学率（enrollment rate）是指某年龄段人口中在校学生数与该年龄段人口之比。与当地现行学制和规定入学年龄相对应的那部分应入学的人口称为适龄人口，适龄人口中的在校生所占比例为适龄人口入学率。它标志适龄人口中相对应的教育普及程度。实际统计时，一般以学年初为统计的时间标准。其公式为：适龄人口入学率=学年初适龄人口中在校学生数/学年初适龄人口数×100%如不考虑在校学生的年龄，取在校学生数与相应的适龄人口之比，则为毛入学率。
